How to raise my daughter without her fear from me?

I have a 4yo daughter. She is a great child, well-developed, smart, independant. Is there a way I could discipline her without spanking and punishing, so she would develop herself and respect me because of me, not because of the fear from me? I’d like if you recommend books or articles.

Positive Parenting is the way to go. Speak to her at eye level, thay way you will have her full attention. There should be some books called Positive Parenting.
